Developing our Management Essentials Programme
NCC Group recognised that their new managers were finding it difficult to familiarise themselves quickly with their core responsibilities for managing people. We worked with their HR team to identify seven key topics which needed to be covered over the first 6 months of employment. We were able to translate their vision of a blended and trackable learning solution into a simple to use and internally delivered modular programme. Delegates undertake self-managed learning which is assessed before attending off-job workshops and the feedback and impact has been fantastic.

Embedding our Core Behaviours
This was a complex 6-month project which involved design and delivery of on-line workshops using Teams, a global audience from the US to Asia and behavioural change across this culturally diverse manufacturing business. We operated as an extension of the Learning & Development team taking ownership of the project and tackling several challenges along the way. We trialled and tested to make sure that the messaging was strong and the support mechanisms in place for embedding the changes were impactful. We overcame cultural barriers and succeeded not only in winning the hearts and minds of the delegates but in stimulating action and change in employee behaviours.

Developing a Global Performance Review System
Employing over 350,000 people globally, Compass Group needed to develop an approach to performance reviews for their senior leaders that would enable effective succession planning and talent development. Cultivate project managed the development of a bespoke, on-line, 360-degree feedback tool and all the associated briefing and training materials to support its rollout. The project was delivered on time across 40 countries and feedback received at the time was that the quality of the supporting materials was outstanding and that what could have received resistance had been warmly received.

Delivering our Senior Leadership Team Building Programme
The senior team of Dunbia worked with Cultivate over a period of 18 months undertaking a series of development activities titled ‘Professionally Better’ which included a very memorable day at a local outdoor centre. The sessions were held quarterly to allow the team time to apply their actions and identify the challenges they faced in making progress. Each manager also received coaching support to explore those challenges and find workable solutions. It was amazing to see the transformation of the team over this time, their collaboration, sense of team, willingness to push each other and ultimately their results all delivered beyond everyone’s expectations.

Achieving ILM Centre Approval
We completed all the work required to enable Orvia group to offer ILM Accredited leadership programmes specifically aimed at sixth-form students. We developed all the necessary policies, programme outlines and evidence to satisfy the ILM Assessors that Orvia would provide an excellent centre for the delivery of their programmes.

Undertaking a Training Needs Analysis
Following our successful delivery of a management wide leadership programme, we were invited to undertake a comprehensive training needs analysis for the YPO to coincide with a planned restructure of the company business model. A series of workshops helped us to identify the needs and a full and costed review was presented to the leadership team who were able to make informed choices about the most effective next steps. We were subsequently invited to develop a programme of workshops to support the embedding of new corporate values.

Designing & Delivering our Professionally Better – Team Build Event
Dunbia had run an annual team building event for their 40 managers for a number of years but had always felt that there was something missing. When we talked to them about how business objectives need to be embedded to create powerful team building events that drive not just enthusiasm but direction, they understood what needed to change. We developed a high impact, fun day with business priorities seamlessly woven into activities. People bonded, discussed, argued, planned and committed and the impact of the day was felt long after the event was over. We were booked almost immediately to run the next event.
